About Our Physical Therapists
Rachel Miller, MPT, OCS
Rachel has a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, graduating with Highest Honors in 1995. She has extensive experience in general orthopedic and sports injuries and manual techniques. As owner of ProAction Physical Therapy, Rachel specializes in the treatment of running injuries and prevention techniques. Her particular interest is in foot and ankle rehabilitation. In 2009, Rachel received her certification as a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.As a runner herself, Rachel is very involved in the running community. Each year she delivers numerous lectures to various local running groups. She has volunteered and is currently volunteering as Medical Coordinator for the following races:
Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run (2001-present), USATF Cross Country Championships (2009), Halloween Young Run (2009, 2004), Parks Half Marathon (2006-7), Marathon in the Parks (2004).
Rachel also is involved in three different Running Clinics, including the Montgomery County Road Runners Club’s Stride Clinics. She was honored at the request of the White House Medical Unit to analyze the running gaits of and to discuss injury prevention with their staff, including Secret Service men and women. In addition, Rachel has been quoted in Runner’s World Magazine and hosted a segment of a local public affairs radio show on the topic of running.
Since junior high, Rachel has run races of all distances, from 5Ks to marathons. She runs for the pure joy of running, plays soccer and softball, and gets lots of exercise running after her two children.
Ken Fleit, MPT
Ken is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 1995. For many years Ken has focused on the rehabilitation of patients with orthopedic and sports injuries. Specializing in sports-specific rehab, Ken enjoys the challenges of working with athletes at all levels of competition, from recreational to professional. Ken's own experience with physical therapy after a devastating knee injury and subsequent surgical reconstruction led him to pursue a career in this field.Ken's expertise can be seen at the Montgomery County Road Runners' monthly Stride Clinics. Also, Ken received commendations from the White House Medical Unit for his participation in Running Clinics for their staff. Recreationally, Ken enjoys playing basketball and running. Ken is a veteran of the Navy.
Ronna Keagle, PT, OCS
Ronna graduated with honors from the University of Maryland with a Masters in Physical Therapy. She has a special interest in overall fitness and wellness and enjoys working with clients to help them achieve their fitness goals. Ronna has over a decade of experience teaching exercise and fitness classes, primarily through YMCA programs, and has worked with all ages, from toddlers to seniors. She has helped develop exercise and wellness programs for a number of special groups including individuals who have never exercised, those with Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and the frail elderly.It was her work with these special groups that sparked her interest in Physical Therapy. She returned to school to seek her Physical Therapy degree (after 10 years at home as a "soccer mom") in order to better understand how to help others develop their physical potential. Having sheparded both her children through competitive and high school sports, Ronna understands the demands on young athletes. She enjoys helping them return to their sport after injury as well as educating them about how to prevent injuries in the future. In 2009, Ronna received her certification as a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.
In her spare time, Ronna is learning to play the piano and to speak Spanish. She enjoys hiking and camping with her husband, hanging out with her kids when the are home, and trying out new recipes on friends and family.
Jessica Oginz, PT, MSPT, CKTP
Jessica graduated from Boston University with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree with High Honors in 2003. Jessica brings a unique approach to ProAction Physical Therapy. She began her career working with children with special needs in a school setting. From there, she joined a new program in Baltimore at the Kennedy Krieger Institute for individuals with spinal cord injuries. The program was led by Dr. John W. McDonald, the physician who worked with the injured actor Christopher Reeve. After a few years Jessica decided to travel, working in multiple settings around the US while gaining valuable skills in outpatient orthopedic clinics.Jessica’s expertise is enhanced with her certification in kinesiotaping- a specific taping method for injury prevention and muscle facilitation. Her extensive experience with orthopedics, pediatrics, and neurological injuries allow her to create a fun and unique venue for clients to attain their goals and maximize their qualities of life.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys most anything outside especially hiking and biking. Her favorite trail in the area is the Billy Goat Trail. Jessica also enjoys reading and playing board games with family and friends.
Christine Hellman, PT
Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy Degree from Boston University. She has been in practice for 25+ years, with her focus of the past decade on acute and chronic pain rehabilitation and prevention for spine and soft tissue injuries. To address the needs of the ever-growing population of fitness and sports enthusiasts of all ages, Chris has taken numerous courses through the years to learn the most advanced and up-to-date treatment options.She has received her certification in pilates mat instruction, and applies that knowledge to her treatments. Her extensive experience with weight training, theraball exercises, and kinesiotaping create a versatile and fun venue for clients to work toward a balanced and well body. On a personal level, Chris enjoys physical fitness through biking, fitness classes, yoga and pilates.
Linda Ross, PT
Linda graduated from Texas A&M in 1984 with a degree in health education and then went to the University of Texas for Physical Therapy, graduating in 1986. Her first experiences were in a hospital setting. After taking time off to raise her children and travel with her husband who is in the military, she resumed her career in the outpatient physical therapy setting.During her many years of experience, she has found that her specialty is helping the older population continue to perform the activities they love to do. Her special interests are working with those who have back pain. She also enjoys utilizing different methods to help her patients with balance problems decrease their risks of falls to improve their quality of life and prevent future injuries.
In her free time, Linda enjoys reading, playing sudoku, and gardening.
Giselle Miller, PT
Giselle earned her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the U.S. Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Physical Therapy at Fort Sam Houston, TX in 2003. She served 5 years on active duty as an Army physical therapist and was fortunate to treat and care for those who serve our country. After fulfilling her active duty obligation, she continued working as a civilian physical therapist at Fort Hood, the largest Army installation in the world. There she developed numerous programs, from injury prevention to group training regimens, accommodating the needs of the soldiers and facilitating their timely return to duty. She has an extensive orthopedic and sports medicine background with a focus on manual therapy.She recently relocated to Maryland and is enjoying all the DC area has to offer. Outdoor recreation, especially with her husband and two children, is something she enjoys immensely.
