About Our Physical Therapists
 
Rachel E. Miller, MPT
 
Rachel has a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, graduating with Highest Honors in 1995. She has extensive experience in general orthopedic and sports injuries and manual techniques. As owner of ProAction Physical Therapy, Rachel specializes in the treatment of running injuries and prevention techniques. Her particular interest is in foot and ankle rehabilitation.

Rachel is very involved in the running community. She has volunteered and is currently volunteering as Medical Coordinator for the following races:
Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run (2001-present), Parks Half Marathon (2006-7), Marathon in the Parks (2004), Halloween Young Run (2004).
She is also involved in two monthly running clinics, including the Montgomery County Road Runners Club’s Stride Clinics. Rachel was honored at the request of the White House Medical Unit to analyze the running gaits of and to discuss injury prevention with their staff, including Secret Service men and women. In addition, Rachel has been quoted in Runner’s World Magazine and hosted a segment of a local public affairs radio show on the topic of running. She has given lectures to various local running groups as well.

Since junior high, Rachel has run races of all distances, from 5Ks to marathons. She runs for the pure joy of running, plays soccer and softball, and gets lots of exercise running after her two children.
 
Ken Fleit, MPT
 
Ken is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 1995. For many years Ken has focused on the rehabilitation of patients with orthopedic and sports injuries. Specializing in sports-specific rehab, Ken enjoys the challenges of working with athletes at all levels of competition, from recreational to professional. Ken's own experience with physical therapy after a devastating knee injury and subsequent surgical reconstruction led him to pursue a career in this field.

Ken's expertise can be seen at the Montgomery County Road Runners' monthly Stride Clinics. Also, Ken received commendations from the White House Medical Unit for his participation in Running Clinics for their staff. Recreationally, Ken enjoys playing basketball and running. Ken is a veteran of the Navy.
 
Christine Hellman, PT
 
Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy Degree from Boston University. She has been in practice for 25+ years, with her focus of the past decade on acute and chronic pain rehabilitation and prevention for spine and soft tissue injuries. To address the needs of the ever-growing population of fitness and sports enthusiasts of all ages, Chris has taken numerous courses through the years to learn the most advanced and up-to-date treatment options.

She has received her certification in pilates mat instruction, and applies that knowledge to her treatments. Her extensive experience with weight training, theraball exercises, and kinesiotaping create a versatile and fun venue for clients to work toward a balanced and well body. On a personal level, Chris enjoys physical fitness through biking, fitness classes, yoga and pilates.
 
Ronna Keagle, PT
 
Ronna graduated with honors from the University of Maryland with a Masters in Physical Therapy. She has a special interest in overall fitness and wellness and enjoys working with clients to help them achieve their fitness goals. Ronna has over 10 years experience teaching exercise and fitness classes, primarily through YMCA programs, and has worked with all ages, from toddlers to seniors. She has helped develop exercise and wellness programs for a number of special groups including individuals who have never exercised, those with Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and the frail elderly.

It was her work with these special groups that sparked her interest in Physical Therapy. She returned to school to seek her Physical Therapy degree (after 10 years at home as a "soccer mom") in order to better understand how to help others develop their physical potential. Having sheparded both her children through competitive and high school sports, Ronna understands the demands on young athletes. She enjoys helping them return to their sport after injury as well as educating them about how to prevent injuries in the future.

In her spare time, Ronna is learning to play the piano and to speak Spanish. She enjoys hiking and camping with her husband of 25 years, hanging out with her kids when the are home, and trying out new recipes on friends and family.
 
Mylah Garlington, PT
 
Mylah received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University. She has extensive experience working with orthopedic injuries with a focus on manual therapy. One of her interests is working with the geriatric population to help reduce the risk of falls.

Another interest of hers is working with dancers. Mylah is a dancer herself, and is cofounder of NSAA Dance Ensemble on Howard University’s campus. Though no longer with the company, she still enjoys studying West African dance and has traveled as far as Guinea to study.
