Adolescent Injuries

Treating those under age of 18 is different than older populations. Injuries and pain can be a concern in the adolescent and teenage years because the body is still growing.

Common injuries occur in this special population, and we have the expertise to address the pain and return your son or daughter to painfree functioning. Certain factors may predispose an adolescent to certain injuries, including overuse injuries. Anatomic malalignments, strength imbalances, overtraining, and exposure to excessive physical activities are just a few factors that can lead to injury. Our physical therapists will perform a thorough evaluation looking at strength, flexibility,  imbalances, alignment, posture, and even footwear to determine the right path of treatment.

Common disorders we treat:

  • Patellofemoral pain
  • Sever’s disease
  • Stress fractures
  • Osgood-Schlatters
