Suspension Class

Having chronic back pain? This class is for YOU! This Suspension class is specially designed to help people strengthen in the supportive environment of the water by floating. Kathy Aitken, PT, who holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Aquatic Therapy, will use her 25 plus years of experience to lead the class. Exercises will be performed ‘in suspension’ while wearing a floatation device, meaning you will not come in contact with the pool floor.  This allows your spine to “open up” and relax.

Each session consists of 6 classes held at the Bender Jewish Community Center in Rockville on Mondays from 6:30pm to 7:15pm . We keep the class size small so you can receive personalized attention, so please call our office at 301-881-CARE (2273) to reserve your spot and to learn more.

Participants MUST bring their own floatation belt/vest AND a set of (2) dumbbells. Please click here for information regarding obtaining the necessary equipment.

My husband has severe back pain due to arthritis in his back, disc disease and weight working against him. Medication didn’t help that much and land therapy caused more pain…Thank you to Ms. Werner for her knowledge and patience in working with him. His pain is much better and he is able to get around a lot better. Thank you again for all your help and encouragement.
